Collaboration is key when it comes to keeping offshore wind workers safe and for the G+, sharing learnings with the GWO helps keep industry training standards current with the latest safety developments. That’s why, on Wednesday 12 November 2025, the G+ welcomed the opportunity to host visiting GWO staff at the Energy Institute office, in London.
The meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between two crucial organisations and explore new opportunities for advancing safety across the offshore wind sector. The organisations were able to share recent project progress updates and ask questions to understand how they can best support one another.
Throughout the morning, a plethora of topics were discussed, including industry developments in First Aid, Welfare, Service Lifts, and Electrical Safety training. Amongst this, the GWO shared progress on their upcoming training modules. A particular area of interest was Manual Handling, the G+ was able to share key learnings from their Manual Handling campaign (a collaboration with onshore wind partner, SafetyOn), such as the importance of dynamic risk assessments and reporting suggestions through seniority to help design-out risk. These discussions inspired food-for-thought for upcoming GWO projects. On data, insights with the G+ Data Manager were exchanged, considering key industry risks and shared approaches to improving workforce safety.
“Together, we are strengthening collaboration across the global wind industry and building a safer, more sustainable future for the offshore workforce.” GWO, LinkedIn
