The third annual SafetyOn Stand Up for Safety week took place from 12th – 16th January 2026, building on the success of previous years and reinforcing the importance of workplace safety across the onshore wind industry.

Stand Up for Safety week is an initiative for the onshore wind community, providing a dedicated time to engage in meaningful conversations and activities related to workplace safety.

Prior to Stand Up for Safety week, SafetyOn members are issued briefing packs with topics they can discuss with their teams during their Stand Up for Safety moment; the 2026 theme was Human Factors.

This year there were four briefing packs which included:

-       SafetyOn Human Factors ebooklet

-       SafetyOn and G+ manual handling campaign

-       SafetyOn hand injury campaign

-       Energy institute Human factors in five minutes video.

Each briefing pack was structured around the above content, and viewers are asked key questions around the following:

  • Design
  • Training
  • Systems
  • Leadership
  • Reporting
  • Top risks
  • Fitness for work
  • Environmental
  • Culture
  • Reporting

In 2026, owners and operators, operational and maintenance, service provider/contractors, OEMs and other stakeholders from across the wind industry took part, sharing what stand up for safety means to them, and what happened when they stood up for safety.

SafetyOn’s mission is to provide advice, share best industry practice, promote innovation and create positive change in the UK and Ireland’s onshore wind industry – this is achieved through initiatives such as Stand Up for Safety Week where we see a network of industry professionals coming together to promote a strong, sustainable and continually improving health and safety culture.
